Each talisman is cut, shaped, woven and blessed by 5–7 artisans, each adding their own creative frequency to the finished creation. This is a one-of-a-kind Australian Tektite found in Western Australia — 100% natural, authentic, and beautifully quirky in shape. It has no damage, and carries that wild “fell-from-the-sky” feeling that makes tektites so ceremonial and special. Extra-terrestrial origin can’t be confirmed, yet its story is undeniably cosmic. Tektites are small, pebble-like glassy objects of Earth material that have been melted by meteorite impact, splashed up into our atmosphere, and fallen to Earth again under gravity. They often acquire aerodynamic shapes when they partially melt on their return journey. Their name comes from the Greek word ‘tektos’, meaning ‘molten’. One of the earliest written references dates back around a thousand years ago, describing them as an “Inkstone of the Thundergod.” Handcrafted by us here at Platypus Dreaming in the beautiful rainforests of Kuranda, QLD Australia, Ngunbay Djapukai country.
